Gender/age: Female, 31
Skin type: Fitzpatrick III — medium phototype, prone to irritation and ingrown hairs
Treatment area: Classic bikini

Treatment goal: Long-term hair reduction and improvement in the appearance of post-shaving redness and bumps.

The “before” images show dense, coarse hair alongside visible redness, irritation and bumps commonly associated with shaving and ingrown hairs.

As an experienced aesthetician, I was looking for a technology that:

Combines three wavelengths — 755 nm, 808 nm and 1064 nm
To target follicles at different depths

Delivers a stable QDC
Pulse to support consistent and controlled energy delivery

Features five levels of cooling
To improve client comfort during treatment

Offers a handpiece lifespan of 20–50 million shots
Making it suitable for long-term salon use

Zemits Quidion met these requirements and also features an intuitive SMART screen with ready-to-use protocols — a valuable advantage in a busy salon.

Session 1

Starting parameters: 12 J/cm² • 6 Hz • 755 + 808 nm
Treatment time: 18 minutes
Client sensation: Gentle tingling — VAS 2/10

Session 2

Starting parameters: 14 J/cm² • 6 Hz • 755 + 808 nm
Treatment time: 18 minutes
Client sensation: Cool pinpricks — VAS 2/10

Session 2

Starting parameters: 16 J/cm² • 6 Hz • 755 + 808 + 1064 nm
Treatment time: 18 minutes
Client sensation: Comfortable — “I barely felt it” — VAS 1/10

Parameters were selected according to the skin phototype and hair density. The pulse duration was increased during each subsequent procedure following the QDC protocol.

Average hair density

  • Before: approximately 100 hairs/cm²
  • After 2 procedures: approximately 60 hairs/cm²
  • Reduction: ≈ 40%

Severity of redness

  • Before: high
  • After 2 procedures: low
  • Result: noticeable reduction

Number of breakouts

  • Before: 12
  • After 2 procedures: 3
  • Reduction: 75%

What Did We Observe?

  • The hair appeared sparser and noticeably finer.
  • The skin tone looked more even, while localised redness and irritation were significantly reduced.
  • Estimates were based on follicle counts from a reference photograph using a 1 cm² grid.

Average hair density

  • Before: approximately 100 hairs/cm²
  • After 3 procedures: approximately 30 hairs/cm²
  • Reduction: ≈ 70%

Number of breakouts and inflammatory elements

  • Before: 12
  • After 3 procedures: 1
  • Reduction: ≈ 92%

Skin comfort according to client's subjective assessment

  • Before: 4/10
  • After 3 procedures: 9/10

The client reported shaving approximately two-thirds less often and said she “no longer even thinks about irritation”

“Over the past several years, I have tested more than a dozen laser systems. Zemits Quidion offers an excellent balance of power, treatment comfort and consistent performance. QDC technology allows me to deliver a premium client experience, while the visible results speak for themselves.”
